The Current Situation
The Macramé Owl Sanctuary has had its fair share of challenges over the last two years. For a time, many owls were forced into foster care at the Macramé Owl Sanctuary Team (MOST) members’ own homes.
Luckily, in July 2011, the Sanctuary was offered temporary premises in Merthyr Tydfil, for which we are all very grateful. We are still ever-conscious of the need to secure a permanent premises, and need all the help we can get!
Viv and Ciaran are ecstatic by a caller pledging to make the very first monetary donation of 12 pence to the sanctuary. This will buy approximately 5 inches (or 12.7 cm) of jute for Macramé Owl sutures.

Help Build a Permanent Macramé Owl Sanctuary
Though it’s true that most Macramé Owls are sustainable in very modest, humble (and often transient) living conditions, we believe they deserve better, for all the joy and laughter they have provided humanity for decades.
Macramé Owls have a life purpose and innate need to continue to bring happiness and wellbeing to the public at large. For this reason, we want to provide them with a secure place where people can visit, and enjoy their company. We have many plans to create a Macramé Owl Sanctuary that both Macramé Owls and humans can enjoy.
We envision a place where our Macramé Owls can go about their daily activities, freely, and without ridicule. We aim to provide an information centre where enthusiasts can visit with their families and teach their children to honour and respect the Macramé Owl in a humanitarian way. Of course, we will need help, and lots of it, to make this dream a reality.
We are currently seeking investors and volunteers to support this project. If you are inspired to help, please contact us about any ideas you have, and how you may be able to contribute to our cause.
We will update you on the progress of this project at every milestone step. Remember to subscribe to our blog, Twitter and “like” our Facebook page to receive up-to-the-minute reports!
